Right off the bat, you can see that it’s more than just an engine guard. The 27mm diameter reinforcement bar ties the engine guard and the crash bars together, increasing the strength of the overall system. This design allows for even large impacts to be distributed throughout the entire system, minimizing damage to the bike’s engine, frame and other vital components.

The engine guards are secured entirely onto the frame using 4 and 5mm steel tabs, knowing that the engine cases are the most exposed in all tip-overs, we designed these for maximum strength.

Engine Case Protection - entirely frame mounted, thus the fragile engine is not exposed to forces transferred to it due to crash impact

Crash Bars Reinforcement - the engine guard is tied into the crash bars through a reinforcement bar.

27mm diameter tubing - handles the weight of the bike under impact (crash).

Sandblasted and powder coated surface - simple and tough coating that lasts.

Compatibility:

Engine Case Guard: 2016-2019 standard and 2018-2019 Adventure Sports. One engine guards for all models. Only specify transmission type (DCT or Manual) on webpage. NOT compatible with DCT foot shifter pedal.

Compatible with both Standard and Adventure Sports original skid plates ONLY after performing the following minor modifications.

Mostly great "some assembly required"

I bought the set for a 2019 CRF1000L2. Skid plate, upper and lower crash bars and engine bars. Read the instructions for the engine bars and lower crash bars together and install the crash bars first. Fairly straight forward install for bars.
Though skid plate package was opened and was written as unmounted, there were black marks on the silver skid plate and lots of marring around one mounting hole. Wish dual sport would have knocked a few $ off. Had to shim skid plate to keep it from touching exhaust header. Skid plate mounting bar needed to be modified to get plate holes to line up.

Look great on my bike. Fits over the DCT very nice
