Honda put the Africa Twin in the CRF category for a reason. Like the popular dirt bikes that share its nomenclature this bike was made to not only handle the tough stuff but also excel in it. The Honda CRF1000 was a game changer in the ADV market and Honda has only improved on that platform with the new CRF1100. Part of AltRider's 3-part Crash Bar System for Africa Twins the Upper Crash Bars provide complete coverage for the bike's vulnerable radiator and expensive plastic fairings. The 1 inch (25.4 mm) diameter stainless steel tubing is hand-TIG welded in the USA and mounts directly to frame rather than the engine case.

The Lower and Upper Crash Bars meet at 3/16 inch (4.8 mm) thick stainless steel mounting brackets which tie to the front sub-frame and headstock using included M6 bolts a dramatic advantage over all other designs on the market. This ensures a solid connection to the motorcycle's frame especially when installed in conjunction with the Reinforcement Crash Bars. Once the upper system is tied to the stout lower 1.25 inch (31.75 mm) bars the system becomes a robust roll cage-like solution and the strongest crash bar protection option available. PEM captive nuts make for easy removal for servicing.

The AltRider Upper Crash Bars are offered individually or as part of the Full Crash Bar System and are available in a bead-blasted matte stainless steel and a black red or white powder coated finish. The Upper Crash Bars can be installed on both DCT and manual transmission models and are compatible with the factory belly pan and OEM center stand. Stainless steel mounting hardware is included.

Configuration notes: Save when you buy the Upper & Lower Bars Combo and save even more when you buy the Full System (compared to purchasing each piece separately). If you are ordering only the Upper or Lower and it's your first piece you'll need to order with the installation bracket. If you already have the Upper or Lower and are ordering the other piece you can order without the bracket.
